Has anyone attempted to fit a low temp rev limiter on a S6 engine? Maybe one that limits revs to 3000 before the oil has warmed up? If so what did you do?
cheers

I`ve never heard of such a system, technically you could easily read the value of the oil sensor but trying to stop the rev's going above 3000rpm - no idea how you would tell the ECU to cut ignition.

I thought some of the later T cars (2003 onwards) had this fitted as standard?

From memory something like oil temp < 30 degrees, revs limited to < 4000.

Still a little harsh IMHO but that's how it came out of the factory. I'm sure that there's a thread on here or on the Tamora, T350 and Sagaris forum about it.

ETA: tried the search function but apparently it's offline for maintenance... Do a search for "oil temp" in both fora once it's back and see what you get...

Just keep an eye on the oil temperature- far safer I would argue than NOT being able to accelerate away from a dangerous situation if absolutely needed.

And I think there is a soft limiter further up the rev range somewhere.

Easier said than done - www.cccedinburgh.co.uk - car will be effectively a hire car, and although club members will look after it better than hirers, I still can't be sure how it will be treated and would like the engine to last it's course!

I see where you're coming from now.

Try contacting one of the acknowledged engine builders- Power/Racing Green/Str8six etc. I believe Power have a bespoke de-cat chip so must know their way around an ECU.
