I have it on good authority from somebody who should know (don't know for sure if it is true though) there is no difference apart from advancing the timing 3 deg.

I thought it was basically a different ecu map and a larger bore exhaust but I could be wrong.

A factory built 4.0 Red Rose engine has these items different to a standard 4.0:

Different pistons (standard 4.0 pistons had a 1mm dish in the piston crown)
Different ECU chip
Bigger injectors
Different timing
Black marker pen on the fuel rail saying "Red Rose"

This was all the same on the later S engines

Some early factory Red Rose engines also had:
Steel billet crank
Double valve springs

I think some very late Red Rose cars also had the larger bore exhaust of the S, but I've only heard of one car on PH with this.

My T350c is a factory Red Rose and has the S spec headers and larger bore exhaust - it's also an early car being Mar 03.

I think Whitey meant late in Tuscan RR terms ie pre Tuscan S in '02.

How do. I own a full factory Red Rose 3.6L Tamora this means it has a fully Blue Printed engine which pushes up the BHP from 350 BHP to 375 BHP also included in this package is larger bore exhaust from engine and bigger brakes/discs/injectors etc.

Yes sorry, that's what I meant. I was talking Tuscan engine only differences.

While at a S6 rolling road day .. the difference between red rose and non .. semed to be..

Red Cam covers and about £3000..

The good news was that all cars were within 15 bhp of each other and I don't think any owner would tell the difference .. all actually around 360 bhp and that was impressive for production engines.

Jim have you got the T350 now then. So just write red rose in marker pen & you will have extra 20bhp.

Different mapping.

Standard multipoint injectors won't work, the redrose is set up for larger single point injectors

forged crank rather than cast
bigger big end bearings

Apart from the marker pen and vented disks (often upgraded) the only way to tell is to take the engine apart
