Hello all,

I would check or replace the clutch while the engine is out, a new slave cylinder wouldn't go a miss nether.

Just thought of some other additions if you haven't done them already, new engine mounts and replace rubber fuel hoses, both go or can go regular.

Maybe persuade them to fit new mounts and add some heat protection shielding to protect them at the same time.

Koen sorry to hear about the necessity of a re-build, has Marc found the reason? Would suggest you replace the coolant hoses for silicon ones along with the clips as the old ones always seem to leak after being disturbed.

Think about plasma ceramic coating exhaust manifolds; will avoid premature engine mount failure on left side, but also will reduce heatsoak to cabin.

Dry sump, scavenge return; replace mesh filter

Replace hose clips for stainless band/bolt type- consider silicone hoses

Replace cam & front cover, sump and ancillary bracket fixings with stainless steel

Helicoil throttle bodies at airbox fixings

On rebuild:
Half time bearing upgrade & oil lubrication mods
Auxillary shaft oilway bearing mods
Improve oil & waterways on block
MLS headgasket
New Oil pump rotors
Uprate oil & scavenge pump chains
Smooth inlet outlet ports

Hello Nick,

Marc checked almost everything what could cause the engines symptoms( see http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a... ).
he's thinking in the way of some bad alignments of certain internal moving parts. Camshaft ? (can't explain any better in my broken english).

Thanks for the coolant hoses tip and ..... the sympathy
