How much is a Speed Six engine worth if its in good condition has been rebuilt in the past with the known issuses attended to and is in the car and can be seen heard running and even driven if need be? Full Service history with it also!

Yes that's exactly what I'm thinking. More than thinking. Planning i think. Not that there has been any problems with the Six but i think I'd be able to enjoy it more if i took out the rebuild risk factor and added some BHP!

To continue this, any ideas on the value of a Cerbera Speed 6 engine that doesn't have any history?
Or the value of a value of s6 engine in need of a rebuild?

I am just wondering how much a return I would get based selling the engine from a S6 Cerbera that has little history to be used as a home for my stroked LS3...

These engines are pretty rare, wouldn't the Speed six rebuilders be looking to have a few blocks and heads to offer customers who have had particularly bad failures?

I know of several that were going for about £3.5 - 4.5k this summer, from breakers & between TVR dealers, that didn't have obvious defects.

However mine is still in the car and can be heard running/driven. Thats gotta be worth its weight when buying a second hand Speed Six engine? Personally if i was in the market to buy one i'd much rather buy the one that was seen/heard running and being driven before it was taken out of an undamaged car, over one from a breakers that was in a car that came to a sudden rest. Or maybe its just me that thinks like that? ;-)

Seems sensible, only problem I could see is that the buyer probably wants both to see the engine working correctly and also be ready to be picked up....

I sold a perfect 9,000 mile Tuscan S engine from 2002, with the special ECU loom for £2,000 to give some indication

hmm interesting topic and one I have been thinking about recently, once I get a bit of room in the garage I would love to have a dead speed 6 engine to play with and see if I can rebuild it myself.

Note to god, that is not to say I wish my current engine to go phut

I've dealt with Dream Machines in the past. Well I did buy a Tuscan S from there. Good bunch of guys to deal with.

I'd check with Jason at STR8Six what exactly he did to that engine. It's easy to use someone's good name to big soemthing up in an ad.
