ANYONE CAN HELP TO THE FOLLOWING SITUATION...?
MY TUSCAN HAS STARTED HAVING A HIGH OIL CONSUMPTION....400ml PER 300 MILES.SOME TIMES THERE IS SMOKE COMMING OUT AT START UP BUT NOT ALWAYS.THE SMOKE STOPS WHEN THE ENGINE GETS WARM AROUND 75-80 DEGREES.IT HAS 37000 MILES ON CLOCK (12000 MILES WITH ME) WITH A REBUILD FROM THE PREVIOUS OWNER.IT STARTS UP ΑΤ ONCE AND THERE IS NO RATTLE OR STRANGE NOISES AT ANY RPM RANGE.ON THE OTHER HAND IT'S PERFORMANCE GETTING WORSE... YESTERDAY I'VE CHECKED THE OIL COMMING FROM THE ENGINE(NOT THE DRY SUMP) AND THERE WERE SMALL BITS...I'M A STUDENT IN UK SO I WOULDN'T AFFORD THE "TOTAL" ENGINE REBUILD...ANY IDEAS ABOUT WHAT MIGHT BE WRONG? ΗΟPΕ ΤΗΑΤ'S NOTHING WORSE THAN £1500!!!

ps:the car is still under warranty(AUTO PROTECT-TVG GOLD)

Big Al.

Concerning the warranty,it makes clear that in order to be valid the car should be serviced by a Tvr Approved dealer. The last one was carried out outside the uk by Powerchips Tuners (my uk dealer told me back then that it wouldn't be a problem).Would that be a reason to decline any future claim? Is there a list of Tvr Approved Dealers?

Be careful if you phone them. Read your policy carefully since if you say something that is not covered by the policy they may later reject your claim. They do ask for service records and since in the EU, as long as the servicing uses quality parts, you should be ok.
Warranty companies will say if it is a design fault it is not covered, wear and tear is not covered. Increased oil use is not covered. You need to check. Generally warantees are not worth the money.

You may also want to edit what you have posted on here. I wouldn't be surprised in insurance companies look at such posts.

Good luck.

They do! Auto Protect voided my warranty (incorrectly!) due to something they claimed they saw on this site.

The current Engine rebuild prices start at £4500 + VAT, VAT in the UK is charged at 17.5 % therefore a grand total of about £5200, interest rates are now cheap in the UK wink

The current Engineer rebuilders are

TVR Power http://www.tvrpower.co.uk/
Racing green http://www.thetvrshop.com/TVR/News/43.htm
STR8Six http://www.str8six.co.uk/
Silverstone Performance, may still be involved with the Wilder Engineer option, but not sure http://www.silverstoneperformance.co.uk/

Add Deadnought TVR to the list of people who can rebuild (Callander near Stirling).

Cheers
