Has anybody any info on Wilder?
Discussion
All this good talk and positive stuff coming out of RG, TVR Power and of course STR8-Six, has anyone any info on the Wilder engines. If I recall correctly there were mutterings of a possible turbo engine?!? I would suspect that there are at least a couple road engines with reasonable mileages on them by now?
I've sent 3 mails to Silverstone Performance during the last two months in order to get news from Wilder.
I didn't had any reply from Wilder. Had Twice a reply from Silv Perf telling me they do not understand why Wilder is not giving me any sign of life...
I don't think it is a very professional behaviour from Wilder.

I have no idea whats going on at Wilder. Comms have been poor to say the least and I've not been running one of their engines since May. Matt at Silverstone Performance on the other hand has been fantastic.
It's really great to see so much work being carried out on the S6, the RG, Power and STR8 Six developments are good news for S6 owners.
Although I've persevered with the S6 I have decided to call it a day and will be running an in-house built 4.5 AJP8 next season.

Jeez Ceejay you must be well pi55ed off, thats 2 seasons on the trot with frustrations over the engines. I can understand the reason for your move to the more proven (in racing terms) AJP8. I hope 2010 proves to be your year with orange up front. It's really great to see so much work being carried out on the S6, the RG, Power and STR8 Six developments are good news for S6 owners.

Although disappointed at the same time as I had high hopes for the S6 Wilder after the apparent confidence shown in it and the initial shake down testing.
Let hope it's not similar to the Autocraft debacle & customers who have purchased their engine are not left with a warrantyless poor unreliable engines subsequently requiring huge additonal costs leaving the established engineers to address & clear up the mess.
Last year at Rockingham 60th, the Bosscerbera bloke who seemed to know his stuff, gave an interesting unofficial lecture on the Wilder engine in the car park which it also seemed he was involved with it's development & describing this was the only way to go with the Speed Six & yes for extra power a said Turbo charged version was being developed as well, has anyone got one of them I wonder? He seemed super confident in the engineering of the engine though...

It would be interesting and beneficial to the speed six community if we knew why the Wilder engine proved to be unreliable. Was it a multitude of problems or concentrated to one area.
Hold on a second, do we actually know its been unreliable? I was under the impression that it had been through substantial development and testing before going to market. Some points on here http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...
Shame if Wilder tests on Ceejays car havent proven to be the S6 solution.
OK it was an expensive option but with Phils marketing skills and his TVR passion and factoy insight I had hoped that he might have cracked it. Maybe he has cracked it? Maybe the silence is cos he is sorting and will rise again soon with the answers. Hope so.
Not sure why Silverstone are quiet on the subject though as they are involved in the deal.

I think the reason the wilder speed six T350 is changing to a AJP V8 answers the questions. The reliability of the the Wilder in the Tuscan challenge has been very sporadic to say the least.
Edited to say it's a shame as another SP6 supplier would have been nice to see.
