My Cerbera Speed Six has started to misfire slightly when very cold and under load at about 3000RPM and when HOT at tick-over. I am suspecting leads and wondering what are the best ones to get and where to get them from? Also how much will they cost me? While i am at it i was thinking of doing a service on the engine with plugs filters and fluids. Are the service packs on EBay of decent quality, dose anyone know? Any information, advice or opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Guy
I had a misfire develop a short while back during a group run on a VERY WET day. initially put it down to the water but it turned out to be a cracked coil pack.
Its located under the airfilter, I'll post a pic tomorrow. An easy "one spanner" job anyone could do.
Worth looking at yours to see what condition the coil pack is in.

Not looked at the "service packs" on fleabay so can't comment...

Try "Clevor Trevor" for parts though...

If you have not fixed it already, your coil pack may just need a good clean up. Very susceptible to roadspray.

Yes,they are of very decent quality. We only use Fram filters,NGK plugs, and Pipercross air filters. This is what TVR used as original equipment-no rubbish, were just not overpricedsmile

Thanks for the replies. I've not had chance to look at it yet but i think I'm definitely going to give it a service with plugs and leads and a coil pack clean up. My only problem now is where to get the leads from. Surely all good quality 8mm leads will fit if i get them the correct lengths? Or have i just made a really silly comment?

Its not the leads themselves that are difficult, but more so the plug caps.I think they originate from a Suzuki Vitara or somesuch. If you go to a main dealer, such as Peninsula TVR,they'll sort them out for you,no problem.
