Throttle pots sorted
Discussion
Well have finally changed the throttle pots and power steering pump belt what a bh.
However there is now no hesitation at 2000 and 6000rpm and pulls like a student in freshers week. Had it out in the rain yesterday and needed a nappy as the back end decided to pass my ears a few times.
Just thought I would share my Tiv experience with everyone.

Did you manage to change No.2 pot without stripping the car to bits? Need to do mine, just not got round to it yet
had to take the scuttle panel off and the top of the airbox. Then you need a very small (ie maybe about 3cm long )screwdriver to take the 2 screws out that hold the pot. It is a little fiddly but only took me 20 mins to do both. And have just realised you have a cerbie. Mine is a Tuscan

I think it will be trickier on a Cerbera than on a Tuscan, on pics I have seen it looks as it is more space behind the engine in a Tuscan than it is in the Cerbera. I have been looking at this myself and been thinking about how to do it on a Cerbera. I think the solution is to take throttle six off from the engine when you change the pot.Maybe someone that has done it can answer how it should be done, I am also interested to know.

Was just curious. Don't think there is much difference between the cars and cerb is defintely do-able, just extremely difficult.
I have a very tiny but strong magnet I sometimes stick onto screwdriver shafts which really helps in tight spots. I expect I will have to make up a purpose made angle driver for this job.

what is the upgrade that Jason do to the throttle pots?
Sorry a bit slow to reply. Swanning around the US at the moment.Jason strips them down and reconditions them. My Tuscan is a year 2000 and so the throttle bodies had no bushings for the shafts of the butterfly things.
I had a lot of wear which meant that it was alsmost impossible to tune properly and that it would soon loose the tune uo.
Jason had the bodies bored out and roller bearings pressed in.
It cost about 600 Quid and has made a huge difference.
The engine is much quieter and stable.
Tony.
The link below gives a little detail of a previous thread regarding throttle bodies.
Some dont agree that roller bearings are the correct answer.
While someone else can provide exchange bodies.
