34k miles - sorry another oil question

Done 34k in the sp6, I am doing my own oil change and was advised on 05-40 fully synthetic Valvoline oil - £8.25 per liter! firstly is 05-40 ok? and is Valvoline any good?

I'm new to the Speed Six but from what I've read and been told that's too thin. It seams the recommended oil is Mobile 1, 15/50 Motorsport.

My 55 plate Tuscan has always used 5/40 fully synth. Its now on 28,000 miles and uses about 0.5L / 1000 miles. Oil consumption has always been about that.

Just checked, 05-40 in the hand book! however, TVR said the speed 6 was fine.
