Hi All

I have recently aquired a 2000 X Reg Tuscan 4.0, and am loving it to bits.
Always liked TVR's, driven a Cerbera, and Chimera, and promised to own a TVR one day.
My Tuscan [ arn't they a good price now ]has 21,000ms full TVR SH, and runs sweet. It has been De-catted, and pops a fair bit at lower revs on constant throttle, i presume this is normal??
I have been looking at this site for a while now, and would like to thank everyone for the great information supplied.
My previous Car was an EVO 8, terrific Car, but, a little to efficient! the Tuscan is great to drive, always an adventure.
I used to do plenty of motorsport, so am used to Race engines etc, so i treat the Tuscan similar, i'e warm up carfully, check it over regulary, once all ok, give it max!
After many years of tinkering with Cars, then getting bored with them, as they are so relaible these days, the Tuscan has re-kindled my passion for Proper Cars, big grunty engine, RWD, light, and plenty of grunt, two steering controls, one is the steering wheel, superb!

cheers
Mark.

Hi Mark,

Welcome to the mad world of Tuscan ownership (might be handy if one of the mods move this thread to the Tuscan forum) wavey

You mention popping on low/constant rev's - they don't normally pop/bang on constant rev's or acceleration, typically only on the over-run (exhaust valve overlap) so you might want to get that checked out. Is it loud and regular or just a small pop occasionally? It could just be a tune-up needed (throttle pots reset, throttle body balancing, lambda function checks etc). Is it only from one side or both pipes? Anything else unusual happening?

Enjoy!

Andy

Hi Andy

Many thanks for the reply. The poping is fairly consistant, mostly when warm on tickover, and at constant low RPM throttle, as soon as your moving, its a sweet as a nut!
Not sure if its one side, or both!
Who would anybody recommend, as near to Winchester as possible, to take a look??
It had an oil and filter change when i bought it [ 500 miles or so ago now ] i notice on the "dip stick" when warm, the oil is about 1" over the max, as its dry sump, i presume this is ok??
Arnt they "fun" when its wet!!

Apologies if this thread is in the wrong part, i am a new boy!

cheers
Mark.

Ok, doesn't sound too serious then but a trip over to Fernhurst TVR or, I think, Andy at APM might be around that neck of the woods - not sure though. I know Fernies and they are a good bunch of guys.

Be careful out there wink

Echo Fernies... or Racing Green....M3...A331 & you're there. Both come highly recommended from the vast majority on here.

Welcome to the fold drivingthumbup
