Joolz,
With all the work and research done by Phil on the Wilder, is that information not readily at hand? Would have thought your lines of communication would be quite open with the Wilder in Cejays's race car? confused

When my car was a 3.6 it revved to over 8k, on the rollers the power curve seemed to go flat at around 6500rpm and stay around 345hp, flywheel.

Ceejay's car isn't a standard 3.6 (it has a 3.8 Wilder Fury engine I believe) and Joolz will correct me if I'm wrong but most of his dyno tuning has been confined to Cerb's.

Here's a summary of a post I put up last July on the SP6 forum with the URL below.

Original peak power: 363 bhp at 7,135rpm
Original peal torque: 281 lb/ft at 6,370rpm

Re-mapped peak power: 365 bhp at 6,845rpm
Re-mapped peak torque: 294 lb/ft at 6,170rpm

De-cat & Re-map peak power: 371 bhp at 6,790rpm
De-cat & Re-map peak power: 303 lb/ft at 6,120rpm

I can't remember what Paul (at Austec) set the limiter to, but I've had it to 7,500 rpm without incident with it still pulling strongly.

Hope that helps Joolz.

I understand what you're saying re Ceejays car, but for Wilder to have developed the 3.8, and sought to improve over the standard unit, the characteristics of the old 3,6 should have been well understood. Thought a phone call to Phil would have provided the info?

I've always ploughed my own furrow when it comes to the way I approach my research John. You should know that. Innovation not evolution that's the motto here!

Fair enough Joolz. smile

Its a strange thing the 3.6 engine. All the dyno figures I've ever seen seem like power tails off at around 7K, but they feel very different to that on the road - its like there is anothre power surge at 7K.

My last 3,6 was blue printed by the factory and was quite happy reving into the high 7s and was reliable over the period of use. Never seen dyno figures for any of our S6s so can't help with figures smile

I hope to have my 3000M on the dyno before Anglesey and that should be interesting - see you there?

Mine as a 3.6 ran regularly to 7500, and on track occasionally to the limiter which was factory-set at 7800rpm.

Much lower reciprocating mass in the 3.6 design than the 4.0 litre of course.

No probs, shims or even noticeable wear when removed at 24,500m. smile
