Hi - I have had mine for 2 weeks and just learned that it has a blown head-gasket !!! I have a 2005 Tuscan 2 with only 5000 miles on the clock.
Apparently very rare (just my luck) and word on the street is that engines built post 2004 have been more reliable, but also bear in mind the fact that these cars have fewer miles on them..
Compression test is an absolute must to start with and I would absolutely have the car have some full engine diagnostics run on it by (e.g.) Racing Green, etc as to be honest my car never felt 100% right.
Cheers

Hi Trefor - Did you have any other damage to the engine as a result of the head gasket blowing up ? What were the symptoms ? Who fixed it and how much (if you don't mind saying so !) ?. My Car is off to Austec tomorrow on a trailer so I'm keen to try and get a handle on how irate my bank manager is going to be... I've been quoted approx £1800 if its' 'just' the head gasket...

Mine was under warranty (22 months into factory 24 month warranty from new). Its an engine out job, so not cheap - couple of grand at a guess. Sounds like yours hasn't blown in style so hopefully no other major costs.Mine went in style - blew on the track at Snetterton. Nice smokescreen up the main straight.

Haha - well mine was nothing like as spectacular, but then again, I don't have a warranty (eek). Apparently Austec have head gaskets manufactured to their own specs in Germany and I may take the opportunity to get some more mechanical bits changed/strengthened if possible..

re: ££££££ - yes, absolutely... I'm starting to understand some of the screennames such as 'TVR moneypit', 'Hollowpockets', etc !!! - I just spent £800 getting the suspension/shocks sorted on Saturday and now looking at £1800+++ - 2 weeks after buying the car !!
Who did you buy from? Del Trotter? What about warranty from the dealer? Car being fit for purpose?Hey guys. PIcked up the Tuscan2S tonight
Got two problems though, can anyone help?
1. Pasanger side inertia sticks
2. Big Issue. Can not set the alarm (ie cant lock car - or can I?) without it going off when you walk past the passenger side. Has anyone had this before? can anyone give any suggestions as to solving it? where are the sensors?

I have a T350, but lots of similarities so I'll risk giving advice... As far as the seatbelt is concerned, they all do that! The alarm, however, can be sorted, as mine was the same. Rear left corner was particularly sensitive! The control unit is in the passenger footwell, probably sitting in a puddle. On the side is a screw that can be turned to adjust the sensitivity, so a bit of trial and error required. Whilst you're down there, consider putting some velcro on the unit and sticking it to the wall in case the floor ever gets wet.
Someone will be along shortly to improve on my pathetic attempt at help...
