I don`t know how much power they can take but they have been known to go taking the block with them . The other factor is reducing the reciprocating weight which will give you more power as accelerating the additional lump of metal on the small end from rest twice every revolution is a waste .David

The standard rods are more than adequate for the amount of power a naturally aspirated Speed Six will generate.

This is a chevy LS7 forging but it may help with identification. Note the thick ridge of material above and below the drilled hole. Forged cranks have this thick line which runs the entire length of the crank. A cast crank has a very thin seam line maybe 1-2mm thick which also runs the length of the crank.



A billet crank won't have any 'joint' lines as it's turned down from a solid chunk of metal.
