How long before yours is quiet?
Discussion
Hi,
I`ve noticed a few threads talking about the engine sound when cold vs warm and was wondering what everyones experience is?
My 05' Sagaris (driven everyday - 13k miles) I hear the tappets for about 10 seconds on cold start then its quiet. It does sound a little rougher at cold but actually not that bad - she sounds no different at 20c than 70c oil (albiet I don`t touch the loud pedal until 60c)
Whats your first few minutes like?

Tappet noise does not go until full operating temp reached.
10 mins drive until I can happily give it some beans. In some ways this is a good thing. While warming up, giving it too many revs turns heads for the wrong reason, so content to pootle about fishing for admiring glances. When warm, full symphonic joy kicks in.
I feel sure the Sag tappets would still be noisy at low temperatures, just much reduced, and possibly better muffled.
