noticed yesterday that the red oil light on the dash comes on at higher rpm. Also the oil pressure has dropped by about 5psi is now 30 psi at 2000rpm.

car is a 2001 tuscan, have always kept a check on the oil levels and never let it drop below half way between the min and max mark.

i also have a warranty from twg services

any ideas what it might be or what the worse to expect?

cheers guys

forgot to add uses a bit of oil have probably put 5 litres in to keep it topped up over the past 2,500 miles. So i litre every 500 miles i suppose.

I am aware that speed 6es can use a bit of oil but not sure exactly how much.

is the oil coming out the exhaust?

might be the valve guides

if the oil pressure has dropped one of the pumps may have failed, which means some of those hard to get to places may not be getting any oil.

best get it checked other wise it could be expensive.

is getting picked up tomo, assuming best not to drive it in case. as far as i know no oil coming out exhaust especially not unburnt and no blue smoke on starting warm or cold.
