Just wondering what the highest mileage anyone has achieved without the dreaded re-build ?

You should search for this answer, I asked the question some time ago about Sagaris milage..

I recall quite a few in the high 20's without problems, however the Sagaris was the first (only?) TVR with 3 years/36,000 mile warranty.

There are certainly a few S6 engines in the 40's now with no rebuild and no problems. I reckon it comes down to how its been looked after i.e. warmed up.....and maybe a bit of luck !

Tamora, 3 year/36k mile warranty (huh! that was useful) nearly 35k on the clock. Had valve clearance problems which have meant a couple of extra adjustmenst but (until RG tell me otherwise at the service in a couple of weeks - gulp!) still A-OK.

I said mine has had rebuilds at 35k and 70k. I bought her at 70k and so that was my first spends on her.
But when you consider that all her 70k had been as an exotic rental car, you can imagine they were hard miles.

Tony.

The S6 engines reputation has been well and truly soiled by the well publicised failures of a number of (especially early) engines. However in contrast there are an awful lot of perfectly healthy engines out there racking up the miles with no problems. Unfortunately nobody gets to hear about these engines and this topic must be one of the 1st i have read on the net that is genuinely positive and at the moment has not been spoilt by someone of little knowledge (usually who has never even been near an S6 engined car) sgging the motor off. I hope that it gives confidence to people out there who have been thinking about investing but held back due to the bad publicity....all i can say is ignore the rubbish and if you are tempted then buy one.....there is not much under 100k that gives anything like the same driving experience. The S6 is an absolute gem of a british designed british built proper british sportscar engine...slightly flawed at the start no doubt....but what a power delivery and what a noise.....in time it will be appreciated for the absolute classic it genuinely is.

I'm form Slovenia and I always wanted to own a TVR Tuscan. After reading all the stuff in the PH forum I got worried. Especially if you consider that there are now 2 TVR's in Slovenia (one Griffith and my Tuscan) - that means no experienced workshop. But after thinking it over I said to myself if you have b******s then buy yourself a real car, otherwise get yourself a Nissan Z350, Audi TT or Porsche. As you have read above I've made a right decision and that means 1 TVR less in UK - Sorry guys. smile

Nice one krisles. Your English is better than mine. How long have you had your Tuscan ?
Can you get any support in Austria or Italy ?

Well I'm extremely new to the TVR owners club. It's about the same as my PH status - 2 months. Thank you on your kind compliment. But I'm confident that your english is way better then mine. Living in a small country like Slovenia is a big advantage for learning a foreign language, because nobody speaks yours. smile So I ended up speaking five of them. I can't change the world but I can for sure change myself.
