Hi, this is my first post as a TVR owner, brought a very nice 03 plate T350c 2 months ago, always serviced with TVR with no expense spared.

I keep the car on my drive with a allweather car cover, noticed the other day that the dash had some condensation, moments later the speed was reading 0 mph whilst I was still driving, anyone any ideas to waht might have happened ??

I have also been reading the temps and preasure readings so I know wat is normal, I have noticed my water temps being higher recently between 89 to 94 degrees whilst driving, fans kick in at about 96 degrees, so checked the coolant and added some more as previous owners just topped up with water only, has anyone got any thoughts on this lot ???

It's booked in with a TVR dealership on the 4th Jan, but would like to hear from real TVR owners first.

The speed problem could be a faulty speed sensor.

As for the water temp that could be the water temp sensor. It's a 20 minute job and costs about 13 quid.

Get a PC async lead from clevor trevor and PC S/w, to check Water Temp....Two sensors one feeds ECU ,other feeds Dash (of course this is the cheap one and often gives incorrect readings)...best way is to look at what the ECU and Fans are acting upon , not what is displayed on the dash. In normal driving at this time of year my engine temp is betwen 70-80 water, 10 degrees below for oil...Once i'm stopped I'll be up to 90 for water quite quickly, fans will come in at 94/96 respectively and drop back to 88/90, Oil will gradually increase until it hits 90. It's all a bit alarming but perfectly natural on a Speed Six....The trouble is you get so used to BMWs and similar just sitting at 'N' (Normal) ...afraid Tivs have minds of their own...that's what makes them fun... biggrin

This may be an unusual case but...I left mine at the airport for 1 week. It pissed down all week apparently. When I picked it up, it started fine. Speedo had stopped working. After about 3 days flickering occasionally, it just started working again. Now it's fine.
