Hello,

I am deciding which company I should use for my speed six rebuild. confused Am seriously considering Austec and TVR Power.

Could those who have had rebuilds please post their experiences. Espcially any who have since covered a serious amount of mileage. Am interested in post 20,000 miles reliability.

Thanks.

without checking receipts for exact numbers my car has done over 12k since a power rebuild (might even be as high as 14 or 15k)

No probs (other than me being a dick and flooding it on a couple of occasions!)

I used Dulfords for my engine rebuild. Richard has done a brilliant job with the engine rebuild. My original engine was completely stripped, converted to 4.0L and rebuilt with upgraded parts to full Red Rose Spec. The engine was sent away for machining and balancing aswell. All done within 5 weeks, and at a reasonable cost, but if you want a really good job then you have to be prepared to pay for it.

My Tam has now done 6000 miles since the rebuild and it's running like a dream thumbup. Dulfords - Top Trumps thumbup.

16000 trouble free miles since my (or rather the cars') Power rebuild (feb 2004).

And it's taken a proper smash

a brand new engine for £3500 ?? if you can get them at that price i would buy yourself a dozen and sell them on you will make a fortune wink ill have one at that price and i dont need one ! If you can get new ones (from where ?!?!) that cheap it seems odd that people spend twice that rebuilding their own engines rolleyes

Don't go to Power until I get my bl**dy car back. Looking for a number plate for it along the lines of 'COV 1'

I hope not.

Should be in Dom's yard somewhere. Probably taken over by squatters or being used as a greenhouse for hemp relatives.

Buffon I've seen your car at Dom's. Isn't that the one Dom used to own, a SP6 isn't it?

Spot on there.

Thought buying his old car would ensure I bought a sound one but equally he could have been driving like a right hooligan.

It has been back to haunt him ever since
