I have a 4.0 early tuscan with a power rebuild from last Dec. Im thinking about more power, not a huge amount just 30 - 40 bhp more. IS nitous a route I can follow and how easy/costly would it be? Wet Dry systems etc? Also I think the drive train would cope with this small increse in theory as the box is the same as a 4.0 S so that should if TVR were right have "400" bhp. Know nitrocerb did his, anyone know where?

From what I've learned from quite wide S6 upgrade research, 40lbft torque extra for short periods may still be beyond capabilities of std. headgasket, piston rods and crank, at peak torque and at higher rpm.

But best to speak to an S6 upgrade specialist. smile

Well, I'm a fan. [some are, some aint, 'cus of the 'max power image'] Bolt on/bolt off power. Drive standard car most of time with extra if you fancy it. I would recommend the use of a 'progressive controller' as this can introduce the mixture in stages so as to give the clutch/gearbox/ diff' an easier time. Oh, and wet system is the way to go. Good luck. [ps, can be addictive]

Will post quantifiable results if they're interesting Mac.

Hoping Dulford can finish the build in time.... I'll have to squeeze in a lot of running-in at end this month, as I've entered for Loton hillclimb on 30th woohoo

Let us know how you get on.

Engine's in high state of tune already for it's design, but hopefully a progressive set-up used sparingly & not at highest revs won't cause probs. smile

If your after 40 bhp extra just buy the remapped chip from Dom at Power. Only took me 5 mins to fit.

Can someone explain [and I'm not being devils advocate here] how a chip in a normally aspirated car can release 40hp?

Only if you've got a map in your chip that doesn't match your particular engine/injector/ignition spec v.well?

Dom tried the most appropriate map last year with my standard '04 3.6 and it made no difference (timed carefully through the gears) though I know that's often not the case. smile
