Never used Joolz at Trackcar for a re-map, but look at the Cerb forum and you will see his name time and time again as being one of the most knowledgeable and most recommended guys on Cerb tuning. However, I see you're in the Southeast and on that basis I would highly recommend Paul at Austec, who recently re-mapped my T350 - he really knows his stuff and I've been very impressed with the results.

I don't think Jools will remap the standard Sp6 as he regards the map to be pretty good already and doesn't like taking customers money for what will be comparitively minor gains. I took my SP6 to him because it's been modified, but give him a call. You won't find a more helpful, nicer bloke. If you had a V8 Cerb then he's managed to get serious gains out of those engines.

The best bet would be to take your car to a known TVR rolling road ie Surrey Rolling Road or Joolz to see how it currently stands on bhp/torque and fuelling, and in particular the fuelling as they tend to run a bit lean. Other later ECU fuelling chips can be swapped in to solve that.

If you have a good smooth graph with good fuelling then a re-map it seems may only give you 5% max increase on peak bhp and torque BUT you will see gains throughout the rev range so driveability will be improved.

I have not driven a remapped Sp 6 car but my personal view is that gain is not worth circa £800. Of course others who have had it done say it really is worth it!

I think money back guarantee's are offered if you are not pleased with the results, so it's a personal decision.

Let us know how you get on.

already gathered jools is a top player in the tuning department, was'nt sure if he was into the 6's.
also he's a bit far away.
austec's i know could do the business, but just wanted to know if anyone particular stands out,and ontop of that i've got to get it sorted before fighting torque on the 12th august

Austec or Joolz are the ones to go to. I think TVR Power may now also do remaps, but not heard anything about them.

Let us know how you get on.

scratchchinNeither does Paul, after my car went on the rollers, we talked briefly about a remap, but the fueling and power/torque curve seemed pretty good, so he told me to save my money, can`t argue with that thumbup

Paul does, as he re-mapped my T350 2 weeks ago. Peak power and torque did not change substantially after the re-map, but I gained as much as 25 lb/ft and 20bhp at various points through the rev range. It's still running a little rich at the top due to some minor breathing difficulties - hence the de-cat this Friday.

I didn't mean it as a dig at Paul.

Found same at TVR Power some time ago - found no gains with alternate chip maps, as it already had latest & best one in it. It seemed that there are small gains to be had against some of the earlier pre-2004 chip maps. smile
