i am new to tuscans so still learning.
when is the time to check the tappets ? i have heard a lot of s6 owners talking about it but i am unsure of what to do. do i ...

a.take the cover off at set intervals to check them ?

b.leave them alone as long as the engine is performing properly ?

are the tappets shims the sort of thing that will fail without much warning and cause a lot more damage ? thanks in advance for any help

a. Only check them if you know how to. If you have it serviced then I would have it done then. If you wish to do it in betweeen then ok but the original point must be considered.

I dont think shims (washers in disguise) fail, they only take up the wear caused by moving bits, are you followering me.
