One of the cats on the Tamora seems to be knackered and requires replacing. For the time being I will install a set of decat pipes so that any fragments arn't sucked back into the engine.

I happen to have a pair of brand new pre cats as used on the 5.0L RV8 engines. I could easily make a pair of cans incorporating these cats.

Is there anybody here clever enough to tell me if the RV8 pre cats will work in a speed 6 application? Even if its only to get it through the next MOT.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Kev, I took the car for an MOT. When he stuck the probe up the drivers side exhaust the HC reading was 550 and the CO reading was 1.1. The near side readings were HC 14 and CO zero. All the plugs and leads are fairly new and the coil is brand new. Verdict, duff cat. The tester forgot about the readings from the off side exhaust and passed it.

Could it not be a dodgy lambda sensor on that side?

The Lambda sensors were checked only 2 days before the MOT and both found to be working properly.
