A couple of questions on the Reseting of the adptive maps,
1. When would this need to be done eg; after a tappet re-shim or perhaps a re-setting of the throttle pots.

2. When the adaptive maps reset is clicked on the laptop is there anything that should be done after that, like in the way you then use the car, or do you then just drive it as normal. Oh and should they be reset with or without the engine running.

3. Why do the adptive maps have to be reset.

Hope this makes sense, it is just that I read somewhere about resetting them and I am a bit nervous about clicking the reset and buggering the ECU up if that's possible.
Thanks in advance to anyone that can put my mind to rest.

Hi !

The adaptive maps should be reset when you have done any adjustments, service or repair on the engine. The maps is the ECU:s way to "learn/remember" how the fueling and ignition should be at every different use of the engine. So if you change something the maps needs to be reset.
You can´t mess anything up by resetting the adaptive maps.
If you adjust the throttels you should also reset the throttle pots with the software, newer version is needed.

Hi again !

It doesn´t matter if you reset the maps with the engine running or not.
