I have a Cerb S6 with 2005 engine... I've only had it a few weeks and would appreciate some info. on the 'best' (whatever that means) petrol to use. Are some types better for performance or economy or noise, engine wear etc.
Actually I've owned it for 6 weeks and the last 2.5 wks it's been waiting for new shocks to arrive which is unbearably frustrating as the old ones were completey knackered and make it more or less undriveable. Both front shocks spued there oil contents on the floor of my garage after a bumpy drive around Sheffield pot holes. Nevermind...
Thanks
Graham

Hi Graham
I always found Regular unleaded to be OK for general driving in the UK, however you will find that the engine detonates more easily as the air temperature rises. If you drive in high ambient temperatures and in slow traffic my advice would be to put Super in otherwise you will get detonation. If you go on track use super whatever.
Several owners have noted detonation at high RPM. I find that Super Unleaded eliminates that on road but on track I have to use octain booster to eliminate it totally, I live in Melbourne so air temperatures are often in the high 30's when I am out and about in the T350.

My S spec engine doesn't like 95 octane fuel if you've been caning it a bit. Starts to pink at low revs until the cylinder temperatures come down. Always run it on 97 and above and this eliminates the problem.
VYT, how did you manage to import a TVR into Oz? I didn't think it was possible?

No problem at all as a personal import. There is a Tuscan and a Sag on the way right now. Cerbera arrived a couple of months back. There have also bee a couple of Chimaera's a Grif and a 3000s in the last 12 months.
