Good engine? or bad?
Discussion
Hi all, looking at buying a cerbera speed six, is there any ways of telling a good one from a bad one?(engine that is)how do you tell if it has the hardened fingers fitted? i have read on here these are a big issue with the sp6 engine? the car im interested in has 16k on it but the owner tells me its had a new engine fitted at 14.5k, would this have the hardened uprated parts?
Thanks in advance chaps!

If you are on a tight budget, I urge you to listen to the advice you have been offered and get a good 4.5 AJP8. The Speed 6 is a bit of a mine field and expensive if/when it does go wrong. One could consider the additional expense is better placed now in the V8. This is most def what I would do if I were attracted to the Cerb rather than the Tuscan.
Good luck however you decide to proceed.

Why? the V8 version is a classic, and sounds far superior to the S6 IMHO.
Want a V8 but this is a very nice car and only 1500 miles on a new engine! and he may do a deal on my focus!
If it's a full factory rebuild you're probably fine for 15-25k miles - mine's done 22k, made in 2004. I prefer the more tuneful S6 to the AJP V8, but all personal taste.
