Has anyone carried out any induction mods to their cars, such as a ram air system ? If so any good gains ?

Once thing making all this stuff has taught me is how badly TVR got it wrong. We have discovered today that the reason the TVR airbox is not square is that it appears to be forced into position to make the front bracket line up, hence pushing it out of shape and letting in unfiltered air!!!

Oh well it's only money!

Winter and me working away from home has slowed things up but I eventually got it run in and its just been transported back to Craft for a top end strip, inspection and torque down of the cylinder head. After that its back on the rollers for the final stages of remapping to see what it can produce. It was quick enough limited to 5000 rpm and 491 BHP....great fun.....in the dry. Its not a cheap conversion but it makes for a very individual awesome car to drive.

Craft want to do some promotion work with the car and I agreed that I would not post any pics before that has happened. As I mentioned earlier the car is now back with them for its final rolling road sessions and I expect Craft will make such use of the car this time around. I will be home for a couple weeks soon and hopefully it will be able to come home for good then.

A couple PH members have already seen pics. I hope to be able to make one of the big gatherings this summer, but it will depend on whether I am in UK at the time.

To take disscussion off at a tangent....That Carbon airbox from ACT looks the biz good to see they have come up trumps with this as its been requested many times in the past. Had I a need for one I would already have an order in.

Hope all continues to go to plan, Graham; when we met the installation looked really neat compared to most on other engines, aswell as the awesome power/torque potential.

My more modest 'Craft upgrade should be done by April. I found the c/fibre airbox too tempting and have added it to the pile hehe

Ah, but what a way to actually become skint! Would love to see and hear it in the flesh mate; you're not near Manchester are you? Gotta be up there for a weekend in a fortnight. Although, maybe that would be a decidedly bad thing for me to do. I'm skint already and would only be tempted to get even more skintnono!

With 350bhp out of 3.5 litres already, the S6 EFi system must already be flowing a lot of fuel - can the EFi system cope with the extra flow demands of supercharging, or do you need to (eg) add a second injector and use a different ECU...?

Just curious :-)

Cheers

3.6 has same fuel/ignition/ECU systems as 4.0, thankfully.

Thanks Paul,

I reckon the torque figures that your car will push out will be very interesting. I certainly intend making at least one sprint this summer to see you guys in action and look forward to hearing your comments re your conversion and how it performs on track. Good luck sir.

Best regards
