Looks great Graham. I'm waiting to hear if I can pick mine up tomorrow...they're waiting on a part which had to be made to allow the fitting on the TKO600 box without fouling something in the exhaust.....I've no idea really....but fingers crossed. Then at some point gently up the M1 to trackcar for an ECU remap and Nitrons.

You won't regret the Nitrons....superb transformation. Let me know how you get on with the remap.

Take care

Hey me too Ash we're fast running out of sunshine days....

The charger ancillaries are prep'd and in the car now, the blower will be bolted on after the engine has been installed and run to bed in the rings etc...

Hows the Phoenix project coming along dude?

Did they come from Perfect Bore? I am sure you know a few Craft customers (me included) sufferred repetative piston supply issues down to those chaps.

I wish you the very best there my man.

Otherwise it's good to hear things are progressing well for you tho. I look forward to seeing this TIV out there running in the public domain...Can you imagine other drivers' reactions.....now that will be priceless.

Regards

Looks slick! Did you not get the cams hardened? or at least carbonised? reduce friction further I believe, but I think it depends on the type of material, I dont think you can do it to iron.... but still looks the nuts! Was that Piper or Kent who were the end suppliers for them?

So your car is the first one to have a COMPLETE OVERHAUL - I mean like everything done to it? TKO as well? decided on what clutch? is a superclutch? or you going for something a little more exotic?

What exhuast system you fitting? headers? the pic up above looks like its got the stock coil-packs on her, is that good enough for the blower upgrade? what injectors did they take you up to? or is this all the setup for the NA bedding'in phase? and then replace the coils/fuelling with uprated equipment along with the blower later??

Sorry about the million and one questions, but you do remember back when I was encouraging people to go 'super' and you were the first, so in a way, your project is like my little brother! if all goes well, we'll both come out of our respective tuners at the same time to roar up the M1 together! if you ever need a new more aggressive front end designing up, I have the resources to accomodate

Ash,

The engine is a total rebuild ground up using all new redesigned components everything internal was junked. The cams didn't come from Piper or Kent and where supplied as blanks so that Craft can have what ever profile they or the customer desires machined, for my application a mild profile for reduced overlap. The engine as you see it is for the run in stage the goodies will go on later. The Box is a TKO600 and the clutch is a dual plate light weight race assembly that Craft have sourced, I do not desire a lock up clutch as I will not be drag racing it or a slipper clutch as I will not be circuit racing the car, but if locking the wheels up during down changes ever is an issue and I cant adjust my driving to suit then I may look at a slipper clutch as the better option. In all honesty its probably going to spend little of it's driving life in the blood or at max boost for any extended duration. Don't get me wrong it will get a good thrashing, but when the timing and conditions are right. Not very much in the way of opportunities these days unless your up just before the crack of dawn.

Exhaust mods and headers to junk the 5hite standard cats are on the cards for a little later on. Exhaust header and system design is as I am sure you are aware, a trial and error development exercise. Its best to know the engine characterstics and behaviour first in order to have a bench mark from which you can develop on.

Food for thought on the body work and thanks for that.....but I really do want to keep it all looking standard. The T1 S6 looks are the one area TVR excelled in and even they have found it difficult to improve matters aka T2....but thats my opinion. I know there is going to be a cooling airflow issue with the front number plate and I am considering junking the plate and putting a sticky on the clam shell bonnet.

Take it easy Ash and catch you later
