Just had garage report back the tuscan is running on 5 cylinders..Unfortunately he didnt have too much time to tell me much more as he was on his way out when i rang. Due to ring back later but can anyone tell me anything about this!! What could the problem be. More importantly how much $$££ could it possibly lead to.

cheers mat

Probably a dirty/blocked injector. Needs replacing.

I had this problem and it was a duff coil-pack. If memory serves me correctly it was just over £150.00 to replace, including labour and parts.

Having just taken my car in today for the same sort of issue, it turned out to be a dirty spark plug (required cleaning) and a new set of leads (the breakdown of which probably caused the plug to foul). Including labour and VAT, the cost was about £150. Trouble is, running on 5 out of 6 could be caused by any one of a hundred things - one of which could be valve related!! Best to wait until you can speak more fully before jumping to any rash conclusions. Hope your is as cheap to fix as mine was, or even better, even cheaper!
