Hi All,

If you read pistonheads enough you soon realise that a Speed Six has a limited life and the engine Grim Reaper is going to come calling for your Cerbie at some point! That day was today, she managed 34K, not too bad for a SP6.

My Cerbie started sounding like a tractor this morning (Ok, they usually sound like a bad of spanners when cold). I've had it recovered by the AA to TVR Power.

Met Dom at TVR Power for the first time, nice knowledgeable bloke, the only option is a full rebuild; it's too risky for a head only job and I can’t get a warranty on a head only.

One of the engineers showed me around the workshops. Really interesting looking at various SP6 parts. Didn't realise the pistons where so flat and light.

So now begins the fun, I am going to claim my £500 from my part and labour warranty I have with the AA, once the problem has been established.

With fingers crossed, should get the car back towards the end of March, in time for Driving Adventures’ Lakes and Scotland Trip.

Just a note of warning when having your car taken away by the AA, check that the straps they tie it down with are NOT rubbing on the wheelarch....
