Hi Guys,
I'm thinking about buying an used TVR but still unsure about the reliability of TVRs engines. Are there major differences between the old rover based engines from the Chimearas and the SP 6 and AJP engines in the Cerberas? In the adverts, most newer cars like Cerbs and Tuscans have engine rebuilts-does this mean engine break-down??? And what about a Chimeara? I'm asking as I'm writing from Germany where we only have 1 TVR dealer nation-wide.
Cheers, Fred

Sorry to say Fred, but this subject really has been done to death.
Can I humbly suggest that you do a search or just read back a couple of pages on the forum. There’s a mine of information about reliability issues relating to the infamous Speed 6 engine.
In the main the old Rover V8 engine is more reliable than the S6, primarily due to strength of build and the number of years it'd been around.
