.....if the Thyphon is back in the running as seems possible perhaps with its supercharged Speed 6 ,if it really does make it to the real world,we need a new TVR power target.
What do you think a supercharged speed 12 would deliver.
A) 1200 bhp?
B) 1600 bhp?
C)A bucket of smoking shrapnel?

Well supposedly TVR Power are supercharging the RV8 and are at 500+ bhp, which is roughly a doubling of power..
Then the Speed 12 is 800ish bhp as standard
so... (B) ??
There should of course be a red rose version with 900, so 1800 more like.
BUT that's a strange number... target 2000bhp
(and make sure the car is less than 1000kgs,
STICK THAT UP YER BUGATTI
Did any of you see the Speed 12 dyno charts?
nope?
I didnt think so...
Knowing TVR's past over-ambitious figures, like their 420bhp for a Cerbera V8 which roughly prances around the 350-370 mark and their RV8 numbers which were even more of a joke, do you really think the Speed 12 figures were any less of a joke????
800/900bhp? how come the beast never challenged the F1's record? (anyone ever wander why? from the figures TVR claimed, it was more powerful, more lighter than the McLaren F1, but did we see it challenging the number 1 spot? did we see TVR take it to the VW top speed track? did we see it in the record books? Nope.
The McLaren F1, the Buggati Veyron, the Koeniggsegg - all yup...
So go figure...
nope?

to SXS's point-anyone had their 6 dynoed and want to share?
Yep, there's some graphs on PH from Austec's rollers from when they remapped a 6. Can't remember who it belonged to though, and wouldn't want to open that particular can of worms (have you read the Cerbera forum recently?)
I had mine dynoed recently as featured in Sprint
and the car made 360.7BHP at around 7500 revs.
The owner of the rolling road claims these are
very accurate figures as the dyno is a single
roller type that the wheels sit on top of just
like on a normal road as apposed to the usual
type that pinch the tyre between two rollers and
employ a slip calculation into the figures.
Whatever it was fun anyway.

I had my 1999 S6 Cerb dyno'd pre- rebuild at Autocraft.
382bhp @ 7350rpm and 275 torques. Suspect that power up on expectation and torque below is symptomatic of the worn valve guides leading to uneven cyl compression etc etc
Will post figures post rebuild when she's back on the road.

How long is the rebuild going to take? and what are Autocrafts expectation of BHP/torque after?
Hi Dave,
we haven't really discussed a figure as this is not the overriding reason for the work that they are doing.
However, I think it's fair to say that I'd expect the torque figure to head back towards the factory spec (330lb/ft from memory) and the bhp to creep up a tad too as the head will be flushed & re-ported as part of the rebuild.

JT, I wasnt supposed to announce this publically, but just between you and me, ALL speed 6 engines will skyrocket in power... the engineering differences are not just limited to the head porting and bigger valves, theres a bit more jolly-old-school tricks going on in there... I personally cant wait to see the results... but knowing big dave, he'll have more than a surprise for ya all when they're all finished.
Just a few more weeks....
They've also got plans lined up for more interesting decent priced upgrades for the future too...

Exactly mate, we're realists, dont know why people believe figures like lemmings out there without even seeing official results... which in the mighty speed 12's case are non-existent!

Blimey, thats good figures for Austec Rollers....
Really ? I've been told they were probably a bit 'optimistic'..!!
...still, I'll get a second opinion as soon as it's back in one piece...(the car that is; not the engine!)

Ideally you should stick it on the surrey Rolling Road then you can compare it to the Cerbera's as per this thread:
