What is the highest millage acheived by a Speed 6?

With all the problems reported it would be interesting to know just how far engines with NO problems have run.
As self-grenading 6's have been well covered in other threads it would be helpful to keep the focus on original S6's-i.e no rebuilds. As the S6 was first used in Cerberas then I guess it will be a Cerbie that takes the record....?

My Tuscan was a 2000X and it had almost 27k on it when I sold it. No rebuilds.
Sounds great eh? Would get a good price?
Couldnt sell the thing as it had not had a rebuild 'yet'. I had to sell because of other commitments. So, even if your car never needs serious engine work you still lose out...

One maybe that has done 40k, some that heave done 20, and some that have done 20k with rebuilds?
Where are the 40k plus milers...
I know some people must be using them as daily drivers, and not weekend toys!!!!
I can't believe the Autotrader ads I've seen 2000, 2001 cars with 4 -6 k miles on them, do some people buy these cars to put in their garage for 5 years.
Not that they are not perfectly entitled to do whatever they want to of course... Same thing annoys me with Ferrai drivers,,, so huge respect for JK (who can be annoying) for picking up his enzo from the factory and then driving it home. FAST
Edited to add, this is part of TVR's problem unfortuanetly, if we go with the story with early cars, having bad parts, now solved, because a lot of these early cars are doing such low mileages, they've never needed rebuilding, so we will keep getting my 2000, 2001 tuscan has had to have a rebuild threads for sometime to come, adding to the confusiion.
Probably too late now, but if tvr had done a recall at the time, on the early cars, even just tocheck/have a look. It would i think have saved them a great deal of bad pr. But they choose the non-communication route for whatever reason.

I agree with the JK school of thinking-Enzo's should be spanked on a regular basis. I use my 350 every day and take it out for a long run at the weekend- be sad to own a car like a TVR and not use it.

Any more Speed ^ owners who would like to post. If you know of anyone who doesn't bother but has a longer millage SP6 do prompt them.

What I would like to capture is posts from thoughs lucky few who may have some real long termers. I have heard from one dealer who would rather not be quoted as the owner of the car is a rather private type (a position which you have to respect) who has a high millage Speed 6. I don't want to post what I have heard as you can post anything that way-i'd rather encourage Sixers who have good engines to post

Dont worry, I am not being nasty, this section was created a few days ago because of the number of questions which were asked about rebuilds and reliability and a lot of people on the Tuscan forum did not like the discussions it caused as the hope it that these forums should be positive!
I do advise that you read JSG's reliability thread at the top of the section. This was a survey carried out a year ago, however it brings forward a lot of views.
I would also advise skimming through the rest of the recent threads here, they will answer your questions fully.
However the short answer is, that there have been cars built up until Novemeber 2004 (so far) needing rebuilds. Depending on the work doing this is usually £4-5k. If the car is out of warranty, you will pay for this yourself. There are also a number of reports of cars needing more than one rebuild. TVR Craft also are shortly going to offer a modification service of for the Speed Six which is advertised to increase the longevity substantially.
After saying this however, I owned a 2000 year Tuscan which at 27,000 miles never needed a rebuild. The best advice is to budget for the rebuild in the cost price of a car and save it for the rainy day IF it happens. Above that, go out and enjoy a car with a great engine!
