New Engine

Is that a Powers engine? What capacity? And do they come 'dressed' like that?

It's a Powers engine.
Steve Darvill (SD Autotec) took it out, shipped it to Dom for a 4.0 'S' spec as original rebuild.
He is a Powers Authorised Service Technician (30yrs timed served TVR History).
The engine comes back painted bright silver.
Steve had the cam cover powder coated to match the body colour, the manifolds have been 'heat shield thermo protected', powdercoated engine mounts. body matched silicone hoses, throttle bodies re balanced plus a lot more inc new body coloured exhaust cans.



Considered a 4.3 but decided on like for like plus all of the other work carried out.

Why on earth do they paint the engine blocks?
Is this norm for the Powers engines or an option?
What is wrong with blasting the aluminium casing to original spec?

To stop them from oxidising again and looking crap.

Blasted aluminium is a flat grey and will look crap again after a few weeks. Painting it silver makes it look like machined aluminium and seals the surface against future oxidation.

Engine looks the nuts thou that exhaust looks like it should belong on a chav's Corsa or Fiesta
