My 2001 Red Rose Tuscan is very "modest" Hardly any pops and bangs even with higher revs. My 2003 Tuscan makes all the fireworks. Both Engines/Ecu's are as far as I know standard. Is there a difference from year to year ex Works?

In general terms, your earlier one is correctly mapped while your later car is running too rich.

Not necessarily. The cams could be phased slightly differently with more over lap on the later.

De-cat?
Sleaved rear cans?

All of these help with the artillery!

Most likely an air leak making pops n bangs. If you don't believe me adjust one throttle body so it doesn't close all the way but adjust the other two on the bank so they are back to spec, reset T Pots and away you go. On mid to full throttle this will mean hardly any difference in balance but as soon as you let off the throttle and cruise up the lights in gear wait for the bangs.

Don't leave it like this as it will run lean at idle and low throttle but it will prove the point. So you may have a leak between head and TBs or spindles.

Can timing wont affect this much, the map will/can. You may find resetting the adaptives will level things out a bit. Get those nasty cats gone as well, they can melt and block up so stopping the horrible gases getting away and stifle noises.
