Borg Warner T5 & tvr slave cylinder
Discussion
Just hope somebody can help explain something to me.
I understand the slave cylinder on the t5 with the speed six engine was a specialist made part.
Why ?
The T5 is in lots of other vehicles (european & us) & in those the slave works without regular fault.
I am looking for a solution better than oe & Rp which seem to have reported short lifespans

It's not the gearbox that uses the slave it's the bell housing. As per above post you can fit any after market slave with a bit of work, even standard units from Ford etc.
IMHO, in most cases, the slave life span is down to the person fitting it and the amount of work done to smooth the bore in the bell housing and slave, plus using plenty of rubber grease and regular fluid changes.
