4.0 Cerbera engine intermittently idles low and can cut out
Discussion
I’ve got a speed six Cerb so can hopefully give you a few pointers.
My initial thoughts are that one of more of your throttle bodies has slipped, causing the poor tickover. In which case you’ll need to get hold of an airflow meter to balance them all back up again. Other usual speed six suspects include fried Lamda sensors, blocked injectors or water ingress in one of the sensor plugs.
My best advise would be to get set up with the free MBE ECU software (or find someone local who could plug in a laptop for the price of a pint) as a quick check with this should give you a much better idea of the problem area.
Hope this helps
Julian.
