Is there any difference in Mbe controllers and there chips for the speed 6 engine?
Although there are different part numbers for the hardware blue box and if looking on Ebay there are lots of different versions, What are the differnces, Is it the board inside or is it the chip itself.
The speed 6 diagnostic programme is the same for all speed 6 engines including cerb v8.
Will be fitting 2003 T350 3.6 speed 6 into my Tuscan mk1 which has the blue Mbe 2F71B6 single connecter box.
Is there another version blue mbe controller single connector or chip for the 3.6, looking at Racing green web one chip fits all and one blue box fits all. If my chip did not have red rose written on it I would not question it and would have just fitted it to the 3.6.
Would appreciate any information on the correct engine Ecu and chip for the 3.6 T350.
Thanks

Thats interesting, So if i understand correctly there is only one box with the same circuit board and the chip software is the difference between the engines apart from the injectors on the S and red rose engines.
Thanks

There's essentially 3 versions of ecu .. alloy metal case anodised blue, thin steel metal case painted blue (both these have one large connector for the loom) and the later silver wedge shaped 3 plug ecus.
Chips appear to be interchangeable except there are 32k and doubled-up 64k chip files ..
Your best bet might be to keep everything as it is on your car and then get the fuel and ignition re-mapped to suit, or transplant the ecu from the engine donor car if it's of the same type (ie single large loom connector).

Thanks Spitfire, Racing green said pretty much the same thing, So I will take your advice, fit the engine and then get it mapped to suit.
