Last week the car developed a misfire whilst at lowish revs under load, so I replaced the HT leads with uprated ones which has sorted it. However, the car is now feeling a bit lumpy and hesitant at lower revs.

Despite the car having a 12k sevice last month, the diagnostic software shows that the throttles could do with balancing. I've ordered a synchrometer which should arrive in the next few days, and so as long as they're not miles out, I will give this a go myself.

Something I've also noticed is that the adaptives are pretty high when it's left to idle and an AFR123 & AFR456 fault often develops. I understand this happens if the adaptives go too far out of range?

I have copied a small section of data just as the faults develop. I was wondering whether anyone can spot anything which might be causing it?

I also have a problem with the maximum amount I can open the throttle. I can only get 90%, where I believe it should be 94%.

Finally, does anyone know why I get differences between the two banks at similar amounts of throttle? For example, I've got data showing throttle 1 and 2 open at 27.9 and 30.1. When 1 hits 27.9 again a few moments later, throttle 2 is reading 32.9. Is this a sign of worn throttle bodies?

Cheers

Were the throttle bodies balanced at the 12k service?
If they were and have gone out already that can indicate worn bodies.

I honestly don't know if they were. When the car had them balanced by Power at it's last 12K, I noticed a major difference. Since then I've taken the car to a local TVR garage, and have never noticed any kind of improvement after each service. I hadn't really thought to ask because the car has always run pretty well.

Something else I've just noticed is that the throttle % flicks between 15.5-16.5% whilst idling with my foot well away from the pedal.

Hi Cockey, I'm sorry I have no idea how to help here but my car runs rough as hell at the mo and have at least one EFI fault so could do with plugging her in. Can you tell me what kit you use please?? Thanks!

Yeah sure. Using the diagnostics software is much easier now there's the new version available. The older one wouldn't run on w7 which meant you had to have an older laptop. I got hold of a cable from the classifieds for about £25. They do come up occasionally so keep your eyes open. You'll then need a serial port to USB converter. I've heard a few don't work, but I use one that looks similar to this and it's fine. http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B000Z3MBG8/ref=mp_... Might help your car to reset the adaptives and throttle using the software, but if you want to try balancing the throttle pots you need one of these http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00ADITC0I/ref=mp_... The one I got didn't fit properly so had to modify it. That's it really.

I actually gave balancing a go on Thursday and the car is so much smoother! Quite chuffed. Think I can get it even better if I spend a bit more time on it. Quite happy I can now keep the car nicely tuned between services.

Great stuff, thanks very much! Turns out one of my mates has the software and leads etc but it won't see his T350 when plugged in? Going to give it a bash on mine sometime this week, failing that I'll buy all this kit myself & try it out!

Thanks again!

You're welcome. The new software is a little less buggy than the older one (which used to require selecting the correct serial port each time).

Need to remember to switch off the immobiliser for it to work.

Sorry! Meant no bugs at all! It's amazing. biggrin Was actually trying to say the old one was only a little buggy (made computer sleep on exit and the comm port thing), and this one even less so.
