Evening All,

Tamy's been brilliant and you can really 'tell' when she's warmed and ready to rock. However, after a while the idle speed once warm for a while is 1250rpm.

Is this something that needs imediate investigation or can it wait for her 12-months service due in a few months?

Thank you.

It can wait until the service I would think, but if you are close to a specialist they could sort it for you for an hours labour I recon. It needs to be re set on the lap top and would normally require the throttle bodys to be rebalanced at the same time. They will have to remove the airbox and get access to the ECU which will be in the drivers footwell (thanks Bjorn) to allow them to plug in the TVR Diagnostic software.

I am no expert though so don't take my word on it!!

On a Tamora the 3pin diagnostic plug should be in the drivers footwell near the fuse panel.
Might be indeed just something with the ECU in connection with the throtle settings. Nothing too serious me thinks.

Thanks gents. Think I'll leave it until the service.

Check the throttle cable is not sticking. mine on hot start will idle at 1250 and drop back to 950/1000 after about 30 secs. You could also try a throttle & adaptives re-set after you have warmed her up. The S6 can go out of tune quite quick but its no drama to re-adjust with a little practice.

Is the idle high all the time or is it jumping up significantly once warm?

If it is always high then you can adjust it on throttle body 3. Assuming the bodies are in balance this will adjust them all as they slave off each other.

If the idle is jumping up only when it gets hot I think that's probably as a result of the adaptives. Something might be causing them to enrich the AFR resulting in an increased idle speed.

The above may not be your issue but it was a symptom I had when I had a dead Lambda.

If you have the software have a look at what that's telling you an go from there.

Mine did this too. Idle speed increased when hot. Was a bad lambda sensor.

Forgot I'd posted this.

Update -

Following a service and inspection at Str8six all is well. One of the throttle sensors was borked.
