As title suggests a certain well known Dom has excelled again.

Long story short version, good friend has Sp6 in Tuscan rebuilt two years ago-ish. 10K miles in and a rattle starts up whilst away in France last year. Dreaded rattle becomes knock, finger follower has new profile. Time ebbs by, Christmas passes. Engine out by "Three-must-get-beers" (Essex trio) with make shift engine lifting tackle, head off and chamber of horrors exposed. Time passes by. Then, OMG we ain't got long... Block goes to local doode for reline, 6 weeks pass, we grab block back. Time lost....

Powers re line and bore block in record time, like two days despite a holiday with his family looming and he doesn't know us from Adam apart from the fact we are part of the TVR family, oh yes Mr T did perform a miracle. "Three-must-get-beers" member picks up block and drives at break neck speed to my Essex mansion.

Wiltshire Cider drinking TVR owner emails for updates so often there is steam coming out of my lap top....

Powers supplied new chain kit, half time bearing, built up and shimmed head with new cams, all oil seals, piston rings, oil pump and main/big end bearings. Answers all my questions and emails me torque settings. Points out the pitfalls and tells me to call whatever the issue no matter how small, despite the fact he has just sold us supply only parts.

I start to build engine over a few evenings... more steaming emails requesting progress from Wiltshire cider drinker, wives are now biting their nails as holiday looming, dog has paws over eyes and ears as it is just too terrible to contemplate it not being ready, must have hot poodle to visit in kennels, strangely teenage son offers help, why does he want his parents' to go away and leave him behind...? Nocturnal daughter says "you're mad", yep that's what parenting does to you hence I need a release so this holiday is important.

Finally engine is ready...

The "Three-must-get-beers" put engine and box back in. No parts left over!

Engine is now run in and pulling like a train. Tuscan is making me smile every time I see it on the road, holiday is brilliant.

Without the help of Mr T this would not have happened which would have ruined a holiday for several people.

Dom and all at Powers a huge thank you from the "Three-must-get-beers" and a Wiltshire cider drinker.

Anyone who has an engine problem, Powers is the place to go in my opinion.

Hi George,

How's the car running with the roller bearings? Smooth I bet?

Griffo .... hijackng the thread......

Greetings one and all .... Wiltshire Cider Drinker here, just to echo Sagi badgers thoughts, mad that he is! No ... Top fellow really. As one of the organisers of the Neil Garner Open Day, I must add the Essex Trio did us proud organising the loud noise comp on that bitter cold day Easter Saturday. And Dom did us proud too, not only by supporting the day by being there, but generously donating towards our chosen charity for the event, the Wiltshire Air Ambulance. All those that are mentioned are 'top fellows!'

There's a moral to the story here, V8 or Speed Six, having a TVR produces great friendship amongst owners.

Mine 'may' only be a Griff and not a Speed Six, but as many will tell you, 'It pulls like a train!'

Long live Le Griffo.

Yea it's a lot better, Dom worked his magic on it as I had made a few mistakes putting it all back together. However Dom did say that the roller bearings were not a perfect solution to the problem but it is certainly a lot better than it was. I am really enjoying the car at the moment.
