Given the dry sump; is there any special technique to dropping/changing the engine oil & filter on the speed 6 engine (I've not had the car off the floor yet).

Thanks
Richard

Hi Richard

Don't know if you have Graham Varleys bible/manual yet (HHC have a copy for sale I think), but here are his web pages

http://www.varleyhyd.com/FJ062.asp#Oil filter

Also 2 sump plugs one n the main engine and one on the oil tank.

See you when I get back from work.

Cheers Greig, I don't have that manual but would be interested in getting one - will give them a shout.

Yes must arrange a gentle run when you get back,

cheers

Its a bit fiddly, you don't get a full oil change without draining everything. The Varley manual does tell you what to do though to drop the full oil.

Any ideas as to the location of the oil plugs on the crank/bottom end of the engine.
Guess they will be difficult to access !

If you refer to the Graham Varley link a couple of posts previously, you'll see where it is.

IIRC, its drivers side of bottom 'pan' at the rear....near the bell housing?

Thank you Nick. Have narrowed down the area to look.
