It seems I only have one cat the other is empty. Engine runs fine but is this likely to do any harm? How difficult is it to replace a cat on the cerbera speed six. Any advice would be welcomed as I dont want to bite off more than I can chew. I only know there is one cat as that is what the specialist told me after they replaced my clutch. If Id known I would have got a new cat fitted then whilst the exhaust was off but know Im comptemplating doing myself to save a few pounds.
It shouldn't be to hard to do especially if it is the bottom one, if it is the top one I think you need to remove the bottom one to get access. You will need to jack up the car and get it on axle stands, remove the chassis cover plate, 7 bolts if I remember to allow access. There are two band clips at both ends of the cat which need removed and here's the bit I am not sure about you may need to remove the exhaust to allow the cat to get out. If not it should be quite straightforward but I haven't done it so can't say for sure.
You will need cats in if you use a regular MOT centre to pass emmisions test, but with cats out and standard rear end the pops and bangs sound awesome it is too quiet with cats in for a Cerbera in my opinion.

Duncan do not over tighten the V band clamps on manifold side of cat they can break the fastener assuming they are the same as the Tuscan. Fairly straightforward but I have lift more awkward on the floor be prepared to coat the chassis with high temp coating as powder coat will be scorched at best

I wouldn't run the engine with only one cat (at least not in the long term). I had the problem that one was burnt and the other was ok. At the end I drilled both out. On a Cerb, I doubt the cats can be replaced without taking the entire exhaust off. I you buy a cat, make sure you have the correct length and CPI (cells per inch). My original one was extended by an inch (1999 Cerb) and I had to do that on the new ones I bought. Typically, cats are available with 400, 200, 100 cpi. Some are ceramic others are metal.
It's less like than having no cat . No, don't think this should be a problem.
As far I know, BM cats come in 2 flavours. The one with the "H" suffix is an Euro3 cat (for cars later than 1.1.2000). This one has possibly more cells than the one without suffix. (which I believe is Euro2 for cars before 1.1.2000).
