10 days to go to Spa and the car is playing up big time.

Recently had throttle body roller conversion and new clutch at Straight 6 and when it left there it felt great, all ready for Spa or so I thought.

So symptoms are rough under light throttle, backfiring at light throttle under no load. Sooty exhausts, I think pinking ! under load in high gears. All sounds and feels very poorly.

Obviously I will get it back to Oxford next week if they can look at it in the next week , not many days to go now before spa and I can't take it as it is.


Any thoughts on the symptoms ?

I'm only guessing but maybe they need rebalanced after a break-in period for new bodies?
Did you get the powers gaskets at the same time? If not maybe the hylomar seal is leaking air?

I did do the power gaskets thanks and they are all snug

Sounds like exactly what I have after I made a pigs ear of balancing my throttle body's. I've sinced removed them and getting the roller body conversion and TVR power gaskets done.

It sounds like they need re-balanced again but why have they gone out of balance so quickly as the new kit should avoid that happening.

Please report back what they find when you get it to garage please.
