Bought a 2002 Tuscan S engine as a Spare , with 10 000 miles on the clock . Inside I see some strange things. It seems to be that the Cranckshaft was machined to turn. The sleeve has some damage and the piston is damaged also. After that the engine was running for some miles.

What happened here?

The crankshaft may have been grinded slightly when balancing as for the pieces of metal you need to strip and check the components you don't know the history of this used engine it may have ran with no oil that's the thing with used engines you can never guarantee the history check the bores are not scoured .
