After my tvr deciding to break on me on christmas day as i was heading to the parents i think i could do with abit of help sorting it.

It starts a few months ago, i found my throttle pots were only being held in with 1 screw and the holes were elongated. I replaced them reset adaptives and throttle checked the bodies all pretty well balanced. Anyway on a trip out turned car off went back a minute later and wouldnt start. Turned out when i switched the ignition on the back three injectors were constanly throwing fuel in. Aa took me home. Reset everything and it ran fine, also had ecu off and reconnected just to see if any water had gotten inside but it was dry. Ended up replacing battery, wouldnt hold charge, throttle bodies thought spindles were worn with powers gaskets. Along with a big service got everything set up and all seemed ok apart from a slight jerking at light throttle.

Zoom to yesterday same thing alot of fuel inside the exhaust of cyl 456. Havent had a chance to do much yet just tried resetting all values but it hasnt fixed it. I thought maybe i could have a duff throttle pot for the rear? Will be getting new spark plugs tomorrow. Anyone have any ideas?

your post seems a little confusing to read, unless I had a sherbert too many last nighthehe
so you have just had a major service? how long between the service and the problems you are getting now?
I would suggest new throttle pots, when fitting check they are not stiff to rotate when tightening up the screws, they can sometimes be sticky.
also when the bloke`s open who did your service, ask him what he did to solve the problem, if it was bad when took it in, but ok when you collected the car.

also plug in the laptop and check what the throttle positions are, one may be miles out compared to the other, if the holes had been opened up or slotted in the pots then they could have moved back after you reset them??

i was typing on my mobile while slightly merry last nite. yes i've had a major service, tis was done by me. the problem started before the service and the new throttle bodies. it was after i had replaced the throttle pots as the screw holes were elongated, like someone previous was trying to adjust them on the car. heavens knows why, so i bought new ones off everyones favourite auction site. but its been a little jerky on light throttle ever since they were replaced.

managed to get it started today. put the old throttle pot back on the rear. new spark plugs in and after a smokey drive buring off all the excess fuel that was nicely thrown into the exhaust its seems alot better. both positions are good and rise evenly together, and re-checked the balance of the throttle bodies and they are still even. only problem is now my oxy sensor is dud, most probabaily thanks to the fuel soak its had! so i have a new one on the way along with a new throttle pot from a reputable source. the phrase buy cheap buy twice seems to be approiate for me, ah well you live and learn.
