I'm about to lift the rebuilt engine back into my Tuscan.

Does anyone know how much the speed 6 engine weighs and how much the t5 gearbox weighs please.

On max extention the engine crane I have is rated at 250kgs. With engineering tollerances, I should be fine shouldn't I?

Cheers,

Martin

I think box and engine together may be more than 250k.
I have a feeling box is 55kg alone. I bet engine is 250k also.

That said I did 360kg with my crane at 250k rated and nothing broke! Was a bit scary though.
Are you going in from the top then ?

Yup. Seems easier than lifting the rest of the car into the air wink Wish I had a 2 post lift right now!

I thought the S6 weighed 202kg and the T5 should weigh 38kg?

LOL. So it seems it weighs more than a packet of crisps and less than a Jumbo jet. Your 250kg crane should be fine.

Over the top, a small tilt and its in. Didn't even need to put the car on axle stands! Just had to drill a new hole for the adjustable arm on the crane to give me an extra 8cm to get the engine onto the engine mounts without the crane clashing with the front of the body structure/glass fibre.
