Has anyone contemplated/attempted to convert the speedsix to a coil over plug ignition ? Its a mod that has started to surface in a few older bikes by fitting CoP coil packs from later models. Seems like a good mod for a Speed six assuming it doesnt introduce issues in the ECU trying to fire the individual coil packs.

What advantages would it offer over the standard system?

could end up being very expensive as well, I had a coil over plug type replaced on a mitsubishi a few years ago, cost £300 each, ok rip off dealer price but still a lot more expensive than the current item at under £100 that does all 6.

Re advantages? : I guess we'd have to ask why a lot of new engines are going this way? I suspect it offers a beefier spark less likely to missfire but I'm not an automotive engineer so that a bit of an armchair pundit view....
It may also be a future proofing option if the current 6 pot senator ingnition unit became NLA
Costs? higher currently, yes definitely, future? who knows.
Anyways as said it was just a thought to see if others had dabbled.
