Hi there,
my T350 drives just fine but i noticed several things maybe somebody else has those things too ?
1. Ticking sound regardless of engine temperature. tried to locate and found it to be clutch
related. if gear is out it is still present. just a continious tick. if i press the clutch
it is gone right away. there is no difference of the sound while driving or with stopped vehicle.
2. if the car is warmed up and driven then stoped and motor out once it runs again
the idle goes from normal 900 up to 1300 stays there for maybe 30-60 seconds and once
waited or driven some meters it goes back to normal 900 again.
3. coolant level. have read many posts about that. mine seems to like that just the bottom
is covered. maybe 2cm or a bit more. i filled it up once it seems the rest got spilled out
and went back to this level but it is below the hose that goes in direction of the engine.
You have some thoughts on that ?
Cheers
Gerd

1) Clutch release bearing - lubricate it.
2) Mine does this not a problem. Bring the clutch up to the biting point and it will return to 950-1000rpm sooner. I guess this is part of the ECU program just like the engine starting immediately on turning the key or after 4 complete revolutions when it cranks over (based on temperature I believe?)
3) If you overfill it, it spits the extra out of the expansion tank lid and finds its own level. If you are not loosing coolant, its at the right level. Level or slightly above the bottom of the elbow into the engine is the correct level.

hi shep,
thx for the advice. will do so then. have read a lot about the coolant level and mine seems not to loose water at
all but once i fill it up after checking it is back around 1-2 inches above bottom line of the alloy tank but
way below the elbow that goes into the engine.
more problematic those days is getting the engine to heat up. in slow moving traffic no problem but once
on the motorway it wont heat up past 70-80C water temp and oil stays at max 50C. any possible mods on that one ?

My water temp in flowing traffic is always 70-75 degrees regardless of the time of year, rising to 92-95 when stationary with the fans coming on/off. Oil temp will be lower as the temp sensor sits in the air flow. Try stopping for 5 mins when you have been on a run and re-check it, it should have risen higher. To be honest, in the cold weather I look less at the sensor temps & go more off how long I have driven as a guide to if its warm enough to use the full rev range. Four years on and my engine is still strong so I can't be that far off the mark.thx for the advice. will do so then. have read a lot about the coolant level and mine seems not to loose water at

As other post re: cold airflow at speed but you may also want to get the oil sensor checked/replaced. Mine used to do this and after replacing sensor found it had been under reporting by around 10C. Only costs a few quid and easy to change.on the motorway it wont heat up past 70-80C water temp and oil stays at max 50C. any possible mods on that one ?
thanx for the replys. will look into the sensor issue.
was just worried letting the car rev while it is cold. once on smaller roads or once the car idles 1 or 2 minutes oil goes up quickly above 60C. Right from the start water is quite fast in the 60ties while oil stays in the 20ties those days.
is the water and oil temp sensor in the direct airflow while driving that those misreadings can occur ?

However, I had to replace the engine wiring loom when guys at STR8Six found ignition would not advance under throttle. With the new loom all the sensor readings now 'build' much more quickly.
- Whereas previously, I'd drive for 20mins-1/2 hour before oil came to 60 degC, this now comes up in about 15 minutes - I guess the old loom was presenting a resistance to the read outs?
