Hi all,

I'm after a bit of help, and I may just be being paranoid here. Just been out in my Tuscan 2S, and every time I went to pull away the car felt it was about to stall, almost like there was a slight delay in the throttle response. I put my foot down further and things were ok, however, when I got home and parked the car, there was definitely some misfire/stuttering when I lightly pressed the accelerator, even with the car in neutral. The engine would almost stall and I would have to give it considerably more revs to keep it going.

Any ideas what might be causing this?

Thanks

Hi tdog7,
I have posted about a similar issue.
First thing would be to get it on to the software, this will allow the idol and throttle bodies to be set up and would highlight any misfire issue(I think, I'm no expert).
It could be one of the HT leads breaking down or the coil pack. but might just need set up on a lap top.
My stuttering is on constant revs around 2500rpm but ok on acceleration. Almost like Kangaroo petrol!!

Thanks George,

I hope it's not the coil pack, as that was replaced only last year. It's strange because once I'm past 1500rpm the engine runs smooth as anything. It was serviced only 2 months ago by a well known TVR specialist so if the problem persists I will drop it into them so they can check it out.

Hope you get your issue sorted.

If its almost stalling even with throttle input it sounds significant, but could be a number of things - worth getting it back to the place that serviced it or a specilist if you havent done any troubleshooting on the car before - you could invest a number of hours and not get far!!

If you look at the other thread running in a similar vein, the throttle bodies could be having an impact...

Mine did this, throttle bodies needed balancing it was only a fraction out but it ran like a dog. 2 of them were almost closed at idle. Look at it on the diagnostics, I could see it on mine as the throttle pot values did not follow each other as you opened the throttle
