When most of you guys want to make your Tiv as loud as possible, I'm trying to make mine as quiet as possible.

The plan is to change the original silencers/mufflers by either having a long one that would be big enough for the two cans to fit, or two small ones.

Been looking towards making it myself or getting it done by whoever can, already contacted ACT, awaiting a quote.

Anyone have any advise as far as trying to silence the car as much as possible ?

Where earplugs so everyone else can enjoy the noise if you don't! Lol

noise/noiz/Noun: A sound, esp. one that is loud or unpleasant or that causes disturbance: "making a noise like a pig in a trough".

Please don't call the sound of any of our engines "noise", maybe I wish we would stop using the word noise to describe the sound of the S6,AJP8.RoverV8/LS7, that sound is not noise...

Would be inclined to speak to some of those in the know, Power/ Str8six/ RG and see what they would think to increasing the back pressure by adding extra silencing to the system
I know it is recommended to get a different chip or a rolling road set up if reducing the back pressure so could well be the same if going the other way.

Most of the real loudness of the noise comes from pops and bangs, when using a db meter. You could target that, but I'm not sure you could do so without restricting power/ underfuelling.

The ACT cans that I had made up (small bore, with plenty of packing) ended up as quiet as the standard cans, but were a little deeper in their tone.
I would concentrate on keeping the standard end cans, and repacking them. Then maybe look at adding another silencer box before the cans. I remember reading that the silencer boxes weren't packed very tightly (if at all) so might be worth checking that first as it wouldn't cost much to open it up and repack?
